Working with Neurodivergent Clients

At some point, I noticed that many of my clients were neurodivergent — even though I hadn’t originally set out to specialise in this area.

My aim is not to make you more neurotypical. Instead, I want to understand how you experience the world, recognise your individual needs and help you find a workable balance between those needs and the demands of the world around you.

Together, we can explore what works for you, what makes life unnecessarily difficult, and how you can navigate it in a way that feels more authentic and manageable.

Adjusted Approach

I understand that traditional talking therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming for autistic and ADHD clients. Many neurodivergent individuals may benefit from a therapy approach that offers more structure and focus.

I am happy to discuss with you what can help you feel safer and more at ease during our sessions.

With neurodivergent clients, I often include work on understanding how their nervous system functions and developing self-regulation strategies to avoid both over- and under-stimulation.

I am not a medical professional and cannot provide medical advice, but I have practical experience working with a range of neurodivergent profiles, including conditions such as PDA.
